Since Lully and his Violons du Roy up to the obsessive rhythms of John Adams, four hundred years have passed. From the small ensembles used by Bach to Wagner’s huge orchestras composers have led the orchestra to evolve. They have shaped its sound, dedicated to it their finest works, added or withdrawn instruments until they found the right balance. We would like to take you on a visit of these four centuries of music history, a visit unlike any other, during which the orchestra will transform itself live before your very eyes.
