Till Fellner has continued to fascinate as a musician ever since he came on to the international scene. This artist who at a very young age had the good fortune to work with one of today’s greatest pianists, Alfred Brendel, has since then become extremely demanding of his pianistic art and interpretation. His technical skills are outstanding and his style is one where the economy of means overrides dramatic flourishes, tirelessly questioning, with grace and intelligence, the great masterpieces and giving resonance to composers in skilfully devised programmes. Loyal to the spirit of the great Austrian master who never surrendered to current trends, Till Fellner – who from the start of his career has travelled the world with programmes featuring no less than Bach’s Well-Tempered Claver, Beethoven’s thirty-two sonatas as well as the works of the Viennese School or Schubert – has unquestionably emerged as a major interpreter of his generation.
